youth ministry
Welcome to Shepherd of the Hills' Youth Ministry.
Currently, we are gathering all our 7th through 12th graders together for our Converge Night in-person and on zoom. Here, we will still study the Bible, but we do equal parts fellowship time and game time as well. Converge gatherings happen at 7pm every 1st & 3rd Wednesday in-person, with the 2nd Wednesday happening on zoom and the 4th Wednesday happening both on and off site.
On Sundays, we are doing our O2 Sunday morning gatherings in-person, where we dive deep into studying God's word in a unique and refreshing way. 02 gatherings happen at 9:30am every Sunday for all 8th through 12th graders.
Also, offered on Sundays in person is what we call Spark. Spark is a time to study about what "Lutherans" believe (catechism) and dive deeper into topical conversations. Currently Spark is meeting on Sundays at 9:30am in room 6 and is open to all 6th and 7th graders.
If you have any questions or want more info please email Sarah Schaefer: children@soth.org
children's ministry
Most of our children's ministries happen on Sunday morning at 9:30am. As we slowly gear back up on children's ministry coming out of the pandemic, we are currently offering a gathering time of play and Bible study for all 4 years old through 4th grade. It all starts Sunday morning at 9:30am for Sunday School in the following classrooms:
- Rooms 2 for 3 & 4 year olds
- Rooms 3 for Kinder thru 2nd graders
- Rooms 4 for 3rd thru 5th graders
If you have any questions or want more info please email Sarah Schaefer: children@soth.org
Quilting ministry
This is a ladies group dedicated to not only making beautiful quilts but also to raising awareness of those in need. Therefore, if you have a love of sewing or even tying knots, come join the ladies on Fridays at 9am in Room 10. Right now masks are required and everyone is socially distancing. However, this takes nothing away from the time of fellowship and working toward a goal together.
All proceeds benefit the work of Lutheran World Relief, and many of their quilts are donated to local hospitals serving veterans and other under served communities.
Please contact Gabbi Kurth at the church office for more information
outreach ministries
At Shepherd of the Hills, we try to focus on 2 types of outreach ministries:
Direct Outreach and Support Outreach
Among our direct outreach ministries are the following:
- Share the Love Food Bank (providing food bags & gift cards)
- Direct Product Donations & Volunteer Opportunities with local shelter
- Operation Christmas Child every fall
- Serving Table (First Tuesdays of Each Month)
Support outreach includes ministries we financially & prayerfully support:
- Go and Do Likewise/GAD Kenya
If you'd like more information about these outreach ministries, please contact Gabbi Kurth or Bree Noble
Prayer ministry
We believe in the power of prayer here at Shepherd of the Hills. We have a few, faithful individuals who gather together in-person still to pray over all the prayer requests. We also have a "prayer vine" that is emailed to several families in the congregation who are dedicated to praying for all those prayer requests.
If you'd like to become a prayer warrior (in-person prayer person) please contact Les Schaefer in the church office.
If you would like to be signed up for the prayer vine, please click here

facilities & Fellowship Care
Shepherd of the Hills is a ministry within itself.
We have buildings and lawns that need to be tended, and we also have gatherings and parties (hopefully again soon) that need to be hosted by the church. This is where our Fellowship Ministry and our Facilities Volunteer Team come into play.
If you are interested in the fellowship ministry please contact Gabbi Kurth
If you are interested in the facilities team please contact Brian Stranahan
