Who were the major prophets in the Old Testament? What message did they have for Israel during times of captivity and exile and how does that fit with us today? These are some of the questions that will be answered within our upcoming sermon series ‘A Word from the Major Prophets’. As stated in the book "Called to be God’s People: An Introduction to the Old Testament", it states; ‘The prophets were God’s instrument to move the people to trust Him for their immediate needs and then to lift their eyes beyond their immediate situation so that they would trust Him for all things, including eternal life’. The major prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel will share with us their words of encouragement and hope that apply both to the Israelites and us in the 21st century.
