youth ministry

While the COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted many things, our youth ministry has found a new venue in the way of Zoom.

Through zoom, we are still doing our O2 Sunday morning gatherings, where we dive deep into studying God's word in a unique and refreshing way. 02 gatherings happen at 12pm every Sunday for all 7th through 12th graders.

Also, through zoom, we are still gathering all our 7th through 12th graders together for our Converge Night. Here we will still study the Bible, but we do equal parts fellowship time and game time as well. Converge gatherings happen at 7pm every Wednesday.

Also, offered through zoom, is what we call Spark. Spark is a time to study about what "Lutherans" believe. Why are we both called Christians...but also Lutheran? This is a time to study Martin Luther's "Small Catechism" and cross reference that with what the Scriptures say. Spark is offered for 5th and 6th graders every Sunday at 11am.

Finally, we have recently started offering a once-a-month experience called "Six Foot Fridays." On these nights, the outside parts of our church's campus is opened up for our youth for a socially-distanced, in-person experience. These will be happening on the 3rd Fridays at 7pm for all 7th through 12th graders.

If you'd like more information about any of these opportunities, please reach out to our Family Life Director Amy Franzen.

children's ministry

Most of our children's ministries happen on Sunday morning.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we aren't able to provide the usual rhythm of children's ministry. When we are allowed, we will gladly bring back our Sunday morning children programming.

Right now, our Family Life Director, Amy Franzen is providing a variety of resources to parents  and families during this time of stay-at-home. If you'd like to access those resources or ask any questions concerning Children's Ministry please send Amy an email

Quilting ministry

This is a ladies group dedicated to not only making beautiful quilts but also to raising awareness of those in need. Therefore, if you have a love of sewing or even tying knots, come join the ladies on Fridays at 9am in Room 10. Right now masks are required and everyone is socially distancing. However, this takes nothing away from the time of fellowship and working toward a goal together.

All proceeds benefit the work of Lutheran World Relief, and many of their quilts are donated to local hospitals serving veterans and other under served communities.

Please contact Janice de Hart at the church office for more information

- Foothill Family Shelter

If you'd like more information about these outreach ministries, please contact Janice de Hart in the church office or Pastor Jonathan

Prayer ministry

We believe in the power of prayer here at Shepherd of the Hills. We have a few, faithful individuals who gather together in-person still to pray over all the prayer requests. We also have a "prayer vine" that is emailed to several families in the congregation who are dedicated to praying for all those prayer requests.

If you'd like to become a prayer warrior (in-person prayer person) please contact Janice De Hart in the church office.

If you would like to be signed up for the prayer vine, please click here

facilities & Fellowship Care

Shepherd of the Hills is a ministry within itself.

We have buildings and lawns that need to be tended, and we also have gatherings and parties (hopefully again soon) that need to be hosted by the church. This is where our Fellowship Ministry and our Facilities Volunteer Team come into play.

If you are interested in the fellowship ministry please contact Janice de Hart

If you are interested in the facilities team please contact Brian Stranahan
