Senior ministry at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church embodies the love of Christ in service to one another. This sizeable group of ‘wise people’ are very active in life with others. Some sew quilts for sick patients and children, many visit the sick or troubled with the grace of God, most study God’s Word individually or in small groups, and all trust in God’s loving grace and forgiveness.
This is the message our Seniors carry. This is the wisdom they can share. Ask them. One of the future goals of Senior ministry is to coach others in the various vocations and life experiences they have shared in Christ over the years. Are you a parent? They have been. Are you a worker of any kind? They have been also. What a beautiful fulfillment of the encouragement given in God’s Word when it says, “2 Timothy 2:1 You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” Vocational living can be done with virtue, faith and fulfillment in Christ’s mission. We have many who have been working on that and would be honored to share their wisdom. Praise the Lord.
